Principal's Message

With winter break behind us, January blew past us very quickly with our first snow day of the year and also with some unseasonable temperatures going in both directions. We have been marching toward our goals this school year, and the work that the staff and students have been putting together has been wonderful to see.

The winter i-Ready diagnostic brought some wonderful news as we were able to see students growing. As a school, we had some strong growth from our readers. Continue to read at home and get your students to the library as much as possible. The more you and your student read, the better off they will be at school. Our students experienced growth in math as well. A majority of our students moved closer to being on grade level in math. We are proud of all of our students and the work they are putting in at Stiles.

We have a few reminders, if your student needs assistance during the school day, remind them to reach out to their teacher. Their teacher is their main support person at Stiles and will help guide them through day-to-day issues at school. We also need your help to remind our students that the three pillars of our school are to Be Ready, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We appreciate your support of our positive school culture initiatives. Coming up in March, we have a few events happening at school.

The school day begins at 8:00 am. Do not drop your student off before that time. There is not a staff member on duty until 8:00 am. Also, in the car rider lines in the morning and the afternoon, we need to respect one another as we are dropping off or picking up students. A student accident is the last thing we want as a school community. Thank you for helping all of us keep your students safe and getting them back to you at the end of the day.

Our Stiles PTA is growing, and we have so many wonderful events planned for the second half of the school year. Come join us for a meeting or to serve as an officer or on a committee. We need your help to make Stiles the best it can be. PTA meetings are the first Thursday of the month after school.

As always we love and appreciate all of our students and are happy to have you working with us to help your student have a great day every day.
