Principal's Message

Dear Stiles Elementary Community,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and is ready for a fantastic start to 2025. As we return to school, please remember that it's important for students to come prepared for the cold weather with winter hats and coats. We want everyone to stay warm and comfortable during outdoor activities.

A few reminders as we embark on the second half of the school year:

• Recess: We will continue to have recess outdoors if the real feel temperature is 20 degrees or higher. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

• Drop-off Time: Please do not drop off students before 8 am as there is no one on duty to supervise them.

• Volunteer Opportunities: If you're interested in volunteering at Stiles, please reach out to me at daniel.peters@swcsd.us. We appreciate your support in making our school a better place for our students.

• PTA Meetings: Our PTA meets the first Thursday of every month from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

• Healthy Habits: A good night's sleep and a consistent routine are crucial for your child's well-being and academic success. Please limit screen time at home, especially at night, to ensure they get the rest they need.

• Attendance: Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for students to thrive academically. Please make every effort to ensure your child arrives at school on time each day.

• Kindness and Respect: Let's work together to create a kind and supportive environment for all our students. Please talk to your child about the importance of treating others with respect and avoiding "roasting" or any other form of unkind behavior.
